The 2010/11 Victorian Champions League (VCL) season concluded in Bendigo today. Fantastic weather finally appeared for the final weekend of season three, with the semi finals and Grand Finals played in perfect conditions at Epsom Huntly Recreation Reserve. Mayor of Greater Bendigo Cr Rod Fyffe and Football Federation Victoria President, Tony Dunkerley were also on hand to present the medals and trophies to the victorious teams today.

"Thank you to everyone who has supported the Victorian Champions League this season. Despite the inclement weather it has been a wonderful season, and today we’ve seen some brilliant football to conclude the competition," Mr Dunkerley said.

The South East Cougars were too strong for the North East Diamonds in the Under 15 Boys Grand Final, with the Cougars winning 4-0. John MacLean and Erhan Yalaz scored two goals each for the Cougars.

South East Cougars Coach Jasper Kristensen was happy with the final results and congratulated the team and the parents. He always put the development of the kids ahead of the game results but was very pleased that it all came together eventually.
